Searching for Carriers Using Freight Intelligence

Search by DOT/MC/name or by lane, understand match scores and vetting results, and find backup capacity fast.

Written by John LaDeur

The Carrier Intelligence view helps you find and vet carriers for a specific lane or company. Head to brokers.genlogs.io and select Carrier Search to get started.

Two Ways to Search

  • By USDOT, MC, or Carrier Name: if you already know who you're looking for.

  • By Lane: enter an origin and destination to see every carrier GenLogs has observed running that route, ranked by Match Score.

Filtering Your Search

  • Equipment Type (Dry Van, Reefer, Flatbed, etc.) and Hazmat

  • Fleet size and Authority age

  • Radius around your origin/destination

  • Onboarded Carriers — limit results to your own preferred carrier list

  • Real-time Locations

  • Power Only Carriers

Understanding Your Results

Each carrier card shows Match Score, Power Units, and Driver/Vehicle Out-of-Service rates, along with a Pass, Review, or Fail badge based on your company's vetting rules. Results are sorted by Match Score.

Toggle Show Likely Backhauls Only to prioritize carriers domiciled toward your destination, useful when you need a return-haul option.

Viewing a Carrier's Full Profile

Click into any carrier to see:

  • Overview: FMCSA and any confirmed dispatch contact info, a map of confirmed sightings (7 days to 3 years), equipment pairings from both GenLogs and FMCSA, out-of-service rates versus the national average, and company/authority status

  • Alerts & Fraud, Operating Status, Insurance, Safety, Fleet & Drivers: additional tabs covering vetting rule results and compliance detail

Exporting and Contacting Carriers

Use Copy All Emails to quickly grab every result's email for outreach, or Export Carriers to download a full CSV with contact info, OOS rates, Match Score, and lane details.

Finding a Backup Carrier

If your primary carrier falls through, you don't need to start a new search. Your existing lane results already have alternatives lined up. Filter by equipment type and fleet size to narrow down a good match.

Before booking a replacement, copy their USDOT and paste it into Asset Locator to see every time GenLogs has spotted them on the road recently. It's a fast way to sanity-check their claims before you commit the load to them.
